ILWS End Users Task Group

The latest actions of the End Users Task Group were presented
during the ILWS
Steering Committee and Working Group meeting 10-12th June 2008, in
Prague. The End Users presentation can also be found below. Many

Introduction:
Welcome to the ILWS End Users Task Group website. This site is
intended to provide news of End User Task Group related business and
to maintain an archive of the group's activities. If you have
suggestions or recommendations for improvements to the site, please
don't hesitate to contact the members listed below.
Charter:
The main aims of the End Users Task Group are as follows:
- Review current understanding of end-user needs
- Identify measurement, modeling and knowledge requirements
supporting these needs
- Evaluate how current and future ILWS missions and
associated modeling activities support end user needs
- From 1, 2 & 3 determine user needs that are not
addressed by the present set of existing or planned missions and
associated modeling activities
- Make recommendations for ILWS members to address:
- key areas to be targeted by ILWS members in order to fill
gaps identified in (4).
- Candidate areas for mission and/or modelling initiative
coordination
- New initiatives perhaps not yet considered by ILWS member
and partner agencies
- Improved data exploitation and modeling serving end-users
(ref point 3), in the context of ILWS.
Coordination with other groups a requirement e.g. ISES, COSPAR PSW
